week 4 stats:
miles: 9 + 23 cumulative = 32/100
meals: 3 + 19 cumulative = 22/75
movies: 2 + 5 cumulative = 7/50
books: 1 + 2.25 cumulative = 3.25/25
not so productive this week. went really lax on the meals and stayed the same on everything else while i had been hoping to improve my numbers.
i know i can get more miles in, but i just couldn’t get motivated. we’ll see if i can up it this coming week. i have the ROC race coming up next month, so there’s some motivation.
only 3 meals contributed to my total this week. one was a staff meal. and the other two were delicious homemades. i made a soup with the zucchini bounty from our garden. i kinda made up my own recipe after glancing at a couple of recipes online. i soaked 1 cup of cashews in water for a couple hours. i sauteed the zucchini, garlic, and celery in coconut oil, then i added 4 cups chicken broth and about 3 cups water including the cashew soaking liquid and cooked until the zukes were tender. then i blended it up with the soaked cashews and that was it. ryan baked some kale chips and we had a very green dinner. the third meal was ryan’s steak and green beans from our garden, but the highlight was the fries that ryan made. he used our mandoline that doesn’t get used as much as it should and baked the spuds. they were thin and crispy and amazing. i did let myself eat a bit of crap; mcdonald’s, pizza, a ramen burger. (all worth it though, for the moments of happiness they brought me.)
i started the week off with 2 movies in 2 days and i thought for sure i would just kill it this week, but that stopped there. we had company in and out of the house and we chose to get into season 2 of orange is the new black. i have also gotten behind on my writing. i have yet to review gravity. hopefully i’ll get it up by tomorrow. the other was you were never lovelier, which i did review here on bulc.
i did not up my reading, but i did finish shane and started mr. penumbra’s 24 hour bookstore. i got it at a garage sale because the premise was interesting and then i saw pictures of it all over bookstagram (you should know what that is if you read my collective lifestyle article) with good reviews. i’ve only just begun, but it is already good.
anyhoo, a bit of a slow week, but, hey, it happens. i’ve got another week ahead of me. and, it’s only sunday and i already have a movie under my belt. aunt sue took me to see jersey boys for my birthday. now i have to get to work on reviewing that and play catch up with gravity. “i’m like the bunny with the batteries, i just keep going and going…”
