season 2, episode 23, “soft light”
pretty cool concept: a guy afraid of his own shadow. and for good reason, his shadow is deadly. there were some highlights, but the particles/dark matter shit went right over my head. we get feminist scully, helping out a former female student of hers that has enlisted her and mulder’s help on the mysterious case. we have a secret government ‘brain suck.’ a brain suck! i mean, c’mon. we get to see more of mr. x and his complexities. and there’s a nice twist at the end.
tony shaloub will forever be the taxi driver from quick change to me. “blufftooney! honk honk.”
loved the tooms reference. “you don’t think anyone could squeeze in through there?” “you never know.” nice.
what did scully tell agent ryan about mulder?? “i’ve heard a lot about you.” mulder is curious and scully is slightly embarrassed. and her smile after being caught is cute.
m: “hey scully, can you spare a prophylactic?”
s: “neat trick, mulder. for your birthday i’ll buy you a utility belt.” i really hope she did.
mr. x: “dead men can’t keep promises.”
