season 5, episode 3, “unusual suspects”
it’s like ‘i survived the cancer arc and all i got was this lousy gunmen origin story.’ it’s nice to take a break from the feels after three episodes of angst, but this just doesn’t work that well. i love the lone gunmen, but, to me, the x-files is really about mulder and scully, so it just doesn’t do it for me. there are a lot of nice moments, and some mulder, and even a mr. x appearance. a total absence of scully is just unacceptable after what we just went through. this episode might have benefitted from a different spot in the season 5 line-up. it’s hard to follow those epic mytharc episodes.
naked mulder. nice. ok, so he’s rambling like a mental patient, but who cares? naked mulder.
langley calls frohike, “doohickey.”
so, this is like a law & order/x-files crossover? whatever. just get me back to the x-files with mulder and scully.
i do not like the actress that plays suzanne or the character of suzanne or the storyline of suzanne.
that cellular phone is ridiculous! and huge!
frohike’s “sorry” was so canadian.
she pulls her own tooth out. GROSS!
mr. x gives them the idea for their name, the lone gunmen. pretty cool.
frohike: “sure, baby, my kung-fu is the best.”
langley: “say it.” frohike: “your kung-fu is the best.”
munch: “do i look like geraldo to you?”
munch: “here’s a tip: aluminum foil. it makes a lovely hat and it blocks out the government’s mind-control rays.”
suzanne: “no matter how paranoid you are, you’re not paranoid enough.” an x-phile credo.
